Dust jacket with colorfully illustrated pictorial front panel and spine; dj rubbed with nicks and several closed tears, some soiling most evident upon predominately white rear panel; dj now presented in a mylar Brodart protector. Blue boards, spine head lightly bumped. Toning and foxing to edges; muted yellow top edge. Some toning to endpapers; past owner' sink inscription on front free endpaper; slight toning and occasional light foxing to interior leaves which otherwise remain quite clean (this copy does not suffer the obtrusive toning often seen with World Publishing's wartime Tower imprints). Binding is firm. A very good copy in a very good- dust jacket. VALLEY VULTURES was first published by Dodd, Mead in 1932. Max Brand, the pseudonym of Frederick Schiller Faust (1892-1944), is, of course, one of the most prolific and legendary authors in the western genre.
