Item description from seller

First Edition, Volume I only. Very poor condition. Front and rear boards detached, leather almost fully peeled away form the boards. Spine of leather cover missing, binding completely cracked and pages loose. Pages present but only some of the charts and illustrations. Some torn pages. Remnants of the charts and illustrations loosely inserted (see photo). The two illustrations of canoes are in pretty good condition. The terrible condition of this important work, effectively a pile of front and rear boards, pages and remnants, is reflected in the price.
