About this Item
First edition and first printing of this collection of poems by Edward King. In very good condition. The book is fully intact; pages have some tanning and marks as shown in the images. Some pages have a short crease, top left corner but there are no tears. The binding is slightly loose but pages are all in place and secure to the binding. A very scarce first printing copy. This copy was from the personal collection of J. E. B. McCready and is signed by him on the front end paper and dated "12 Aug 1887", the year of publication. John E. B. McCready (4 April 1839-15 April 1930) served as the managing editor of the Guardian newspaper in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island between 1896 and 1908. At the time of his death in Charlottetown in 1930, Mr. McCready was the last surviving journalist to have attended the Confederation Parliament in 1867. A scarce and unique copy dated in the year of publication. Seller Inventory # 003459
