Set right in the middle of WWII, the author, who served as both an aeronautical designer & bomber pilot in that war, reviews the importance of air power in winning all the crucial battles of the war thus far, & argues that the US must begin to "think & fight primarily in terms of air power" to take the offensive against the Axis powers & win the war. In 354 pages with black-and-white photos throughout text, this is a FIRST EDITION, First Printing, from 1942. Hardcover 8vo has matte black cloth-covered boards & gilt lettering to front & spine. Condition is VG+: very clean, binding straight & strong, hinges intact, pages modestly tanned commensurate with age & paper quality, heavier to both endpapers, with some offsetting, else unmarked. The unclipped DJ is Good+: colorful & bright, with some large chips to top edge & lesser edgewear/rubbing all around; nicely protected in new mylar cover free!
