Based on the Rede lecture delivered by Forster in the Senate House, Cambridge on the 29th May 1941. The lecture was also delivered at the Royal Institute of Great Britain in March of 1942. E. M. Forster and Virginia Woolf were friends for over three decades, with this work reflecting the fondness and admiration Forster had for the Bloomsbury author. In the original publisher's wraps.
