Condition: NEAR FINE book / NEAR FINE jacket: small stain to top page edge, otherwise looks unread. The author discusses the history and development of visiting cards and their cases with more than 300 illustrations of the various cases and the materials of which they were made (silver, mother-of-pearl, ivory, lacquer, papier mache, Tunbridge wear, etc) and the decoration with which they were embellished, reflecting the social history of the Regency and Victorian periods (from the jacket). Georgette Heyer would have made great use of this book….

Within size and weight restrictions, i.e. items that fit in the flat-rate mailer: Canadian orders will be shipped priority mail for $29.00. International orders that fit in the priority mailer will cost $35 - 40.00 - prices for First class international will be quoted and if less than the priority quotes you will be refunded the difference.
