Various Commentaries of the Pandects by Voet combined (complete). Previous owner signature throughout from MORRIS ALEXANDER (one of the first Jews to sit in the South African Volksraad after Union; as member for Cape Town Castle constituency he was a tireless fighter for the underprivileged and for those living in District Six). Included: separate booklet, "Voet ad Pandectas: Book 47, Title XI - De Extraordinariis Criminibus" (1893) - the pages of this are tanned, crisped, worn. The boards of the book are marbled; green cloth corners and spine. The boards are scuffed, worn, marked. The corners and spine also have wear, marks. The boards and spine are efficient, steady, sound. The book has evidence of use throughout with some light wear about the edges, annotations and finger marks.
