See photos for condition details. Hardcover, original full leather binding with black and gilt label to spine. Leather is untreated, scuffed and soiled with edges and corners worn. The worst issue is the entire spine area has been covered in clear tape (excluding label area) which appears to have been done to reinforce the hinges. The internal binding of the text portion of the book is good but there are areas at the front and rear end pages were pulling has caused separation and showing the binders string. Pages are toned due to age and there is foxing present with the worst being the end pages and pastedowns along with the title page. The only handwriting found in book is on the second end page where it is very lightly penciled "From library of M. M. Van Dycke". The clear tape on the book exterior is the only reason for the poor grade in the interior binding grades as VG to VG+. The 8 plates and sketched map have been verified as being present.
