Vol. III in Captain William Dampier's adventure series stands alone, though a continuation of this work was published six years later. This is a particularly lovely, sound, and complete copy of the scarce first edition. Later full calf binding in contemporary style. Covers show very light rubbing, mostly on lower edges. Map is bright and crisp with strong water mark. Two older inked names are seen at the top of the title page, one dated 1877. Mostly light foxing, though a little heavier on the first six leaves.
