This book dares to reveal - for the first time - the low doings in high places in our nation's capital! Robert G. Baker, Senator Thomas Dodd, Representative Adam Clayton Powell - what do these men have in common? Bobby Baker and Senator Dodd were both associated with Capitol Hill lobbyists who parlayed a fast draw on the wallet and some shady cloakroom dealings into sizable returns. Baker and Congressman Powell both had private secretaries who were beauty contest winners - Carole Tyler (Miss Tennessee) and Corrine Huff (Miss Ohio) respectively. Powell and Dodd both spent public funds freely on globe trotting tours that were supposedly Congressional business, but were really luxurious vacations. What they all ended up sharing was . trouble! Power corrupts the politial sages remind us, and the stench of bribery and corruption in the wind off the Potomac show that thie old adage is truer than ever! "Washington's Wheeler Dealers" offers a detailed and factual study that candidly analyzes the future of DC politics.
