About this Item

The first hardback edition of the book was published in 1971 this being the first paperback edition, with corrections, of the 1980 edition. There is a lengthy introduction by Mrs Valerie Eliot , Eliot's second wife, who transcribed the whole manuscript and has also added explanatory notes and cross references. The manuscripts had been thought lost but were found and later acquired by the New York Library who announced this in 1968. The facsimilies have been annotated by Ezra Pound, Eliots first wife Vivien and by Eliot himself. This copy also has extensive neat pencil comments by a previous owner on some pages. Please see photos. xxxiii, 149pp.
