[1-6], 7-62, [63-64] blank; six additional coated leaves bound in, unpaginated, with b&w photos/illus; frontispiece ("Meeting of the Fleets" at Scapa Flow in December 1917) faced with tissue guard printed with red caption. This copy is inscribed by the author to his colleague Philips, the latter then a dean at Harvard, while the author was professor of meteorology at Harvard and director of the Blue Hill Observatory; Franklin Delano Roosevelt was an admirer of McAdie's essays.
