Soiling to rear panel. Endpapers show light soiling. Small blue star stamped in corner of rear pastedown. Includes publisher's erratum slip noting manufacturer's printing flaw not discovered until after printing that Chapter I is mislabeled as Chapter III explaining why the pages go from Page 12 to 39. There are no missing pages or chapters; just the manufacturer's printing error. This is a super-rare, original edition that chronicles Wall Street's first insider trading scandal that rocked America. Speculator Diamond Jim Fisk, financier and Erie Railroad robber baron, along with Jay Gould befriended an unsuspecting President Ulysses S. Grant; and with information and influence of this relationship were able to corner the Gold market; causing the Great Panic of 1869; causing millions upon millions of dollars in lost fortunes.
