Haig-Brown was an Englishman who spent most of his adult life on British Columbia's Campbell River. This fine Derrydale production is well illustrated with line drawings, plates from photographs, color plates of fish by E. B. S. Logier, etc. This copy has the foldout map facing page 3 in volume one, which is apparently absent from most of the edition. The text is well written and includes bibliographic references at the ends of chapters. Ref. HAND H44; SIEGEL et al #156. Near fine. Slight wear at extremities. Both volumes have a neat prior owner bookplate on front pastedown. Lacking the slipcase. Bound in red cloth over boards with gilt-stamped spine and upper board titles, deckle edges.
