Decorated spine with five raised bands and gilt decoration around the perimeter of the boards. Wear to edges of the spine and small (1.5 cm) split to top of front joint. Marbled endpapers. School prize bookplate dated 1918 to front pastedown.A little spotting to prelims and to rear endpapers but otherwise no foxing. A clean, tightly bound copy of this travelogue by a sometime war correspondent, some of whose articles for the 'Times', the 'Graphic' and 'Black and White' are reproduced here.
