An attractive facsimile of the first edition, issued in a facsimile dust jacket and an attractive matching slipcase. An "As New" copy in an "As New" dust jacket with an "As New" slipcase. This entire series --I think that it was about 60-70 books--is now out of print. This is a facsimile edition of the 1940 Charles Scribner's Sons first edition. Book is 8-1/2" tall; 471 numbered pages; fore edge is not trimmed; original unclipped dust jacket with very tiny nick on the top of front panel above the "W" and a vertical line of very slight wear on the front panel about 1/2" from the spine. As with all books in this First Edition Library, this is an exact replica of the first print edition; the only new additions are on the copyright page and an "F-E-L" at the bottom of the rear flap of the jacket.
