Ingeniously designed packet of 5 small survival guides packed in a protective, accordion-fold plastic sleeve designed to take with you in a pocket or pack on the trail! Apparently, these were once standard issue as part of Bombardier Emergency Kits. Incredibly scarce & hard to find even one book, much less all 5 in their original packaging. AND, on a practical level, these many very well save your life or that of someone else is you find yourself lost or injured in the woods, with no food. Different authors contribute to the 5 books, whose titles are 1) "Survival in the Wilderness,'' 2) "Edible Plants in the Wilderness, Vol. 1,'' 3) "Edible Plants in the Wilderness, Vol. 2," 4) "Primitive Medical Aid in the Wilderness," & 5) "Poisonous Plants in the Wilderness." Each booklet contains about 64 pages & is well illustrated throughout. Each measures 3.5" x 4.5", with stapled bindings & colorful paper wrappers. The set is in Near Fine condition: beautifully preserved, exceptionally clean & bright, pages white & unmarked. The folding plastic sleeve is sturdy, with no rips or tears or wear, just staring to become a bit opaque.
