Biography: Colenso is mainly remembered as a missionary in NZ during the nineteenth century. His contribution to a pioneering country was much wider including introducing printing, also a botanist and explorer as well as one of NZs early politicians. He became a fluent speaker of Maori and translator. Green cloth bound hardcover, lightly faded spine, faded former owner name in ink on front end paper. 494 pages with plates and maps. Text block very good.22 by15 by 4 cm approx.
