1877 First edition hardcover in ruled brown cloth covered boards with gilt titles. Tips and spine ends rubbed, 248pp text dampstained at head with fingerprints in some margins. Book does not smell musty. Hinges are good, few tiny wormholes in the paper at very head and foot of frt hinge, all leaves holding fine. Includes a Table of Contents at rear. Illustrated with frontispiece standing portrait of author and drawing of horse with numbered "Names And Situations Of The External Parts Of The Horse", and several other engravings. "Also A Treatise On Shoeing; Educating Cattle and Dogs with Hints On Stable Management; On the rules and Regulations Of Trotting, Racing and Betting". Includes "tips" for the Jockey.
