100 pages with an almanac like month-by-month series of original letters and articles by amateur historians detailing discoveries, forgotten historical information and finds + literary miscellaneous notes. Woodcut illustrations in the text. Title page and each month also has a headed page. This issue includes woodcuts and passages of interest on Dick Whittington's House (pulled down in 1806) + Dirty Dick's shop in Aldgate + Gallini, The Opera Dancer + Dr Trusler + Dean Swift's birthplace with woodcut + old Traditions and Folklore of Surrey, etc, etc. The complete magazine/journal disbound, but would have been issued singly originally, this has been separated having bound with other similar mags. We have been operating on and off since 1977 and our stock is varied, leaning towards antiquarian and 19th century with the addition of original aquatint and lithographic, or woodcut engravings. Also maps and Ephemera - in fact, anything interesting on paper really. We have in stock every item we list. We do not use stock photographs, but photograph each item individually. We very rarely use "fine" or "mint" as a description, mainly due to the age and the fact that 99.9% of what we sell has been pre-owned and therefor Fine would not be a term for a book we sell despite its fine-like appearance. We always take items back unreservedly if not in the condition as described. We always try to describe fully.
