Add to basketFirst edition of author's second novel. Only 500 copies printed. Three volume set in matching beautiful contemporary binding of blue calf and lizard skin with ribbed spine, gilt lettering and tooling, top edge gilt, blue marbled end pages. Each volume with the bookplate of Russell Clifford Durant on the front paste down, and with his initials in gilt on the covers. All errors in text as called for. Scott 3 : Whatmore F2. London: Hurst and Blackett (1885) 295/303/334 pages Fine. The bindings have very slight shelf wear. The edges of the text block have been trimmed and the Publisher's catalog at rear of Volume III is removed. Text pages are off white, and there are some dog-ear creases. Vol. III has a some modest paper loss on fore edge of a few pages (possible bug chew) not effecting text.
