About this Item

Decorated binding in scarce dust jacket. Clean red cloth boards with elaborate gold decoration on cover and spine. Small tear to cloth at top of spine has been carefully repaired. Binding is tight and square, hinges are sound. Previous owner name and address neatly penned at top corner of front free endpaper. Wonderful black and white illustrations by A. J. Walker, including frontispiece with clean tissue guard. Illustrated title page done in black with red lettering. Some paper remnants on rear fixed endpaper. Introduction by the author. 424 pages. Dust jacket mirrors the decoration on the book cover (knight on horseback riding through a forest); has chipping along flap folds and at spine ends; enclosed in new archival quality removable mylar cover. Legends and stories and the record of an age when romance was almost inherent in man's nature, with their roots deep in folklore and obscure history.
