Very good/very good plus books (considering their age). Dark blue-green paper covered boards with cream paper covered spines. Paper labels on spines. Spines are very sunned. Panels are soiled and stained. All board edges and corners are rubbed through. Edges at head and tail of board spines are chips and split. Gutters appear to have been professionally repaired at some point. Page edges are untrimmed and very age-darkened. All volumes have first and second half title pages. In addition, Vol. I has four pages of ads "Popular Novels, published by Longman, Hurst, Rees, Orme, Brown, & Green, Paternoster-Row" dated Dec. 1825, following the FFEP and preceding one blank page and the first half-title. The title page is followed by the Preface, second half-title and 315 text pages. Two blank pages precede the back free end paper. Vol. II pp. 332 and Vol. III pp. 370. Foxing is present and Vol. II has stains in the upper and lower margins on pp. 279-302, but text is not impacted. Text blocks are stable.
