xii, 124 pp. Original decorated orange cloth, with gilt stamping on front cover. Front flyleaf has been removed, else Very Good. This copy does NOT have any library markings. First Edition. This book went through five editions. The first edition, offered here, was not illustrated. In 1859 a separate volume entitled Illustrations to How to Work with the Microscope was published by John Churchill. The four later editions, published from 1861 to 1880, were illustrated.
