Two Volumes. Undated, but estimated at 1931 and presumed First Thus. States 'This Edition of Rabelais' Works is printed upon laid paper of fine quality specially made for the Navarre Society and is strictly limited'. Two volume set comprising Good HBs in Fair DJs,with numerous black and white illustrations by W. Heath Robinson. Tissue-guarded frontis. both volumes.Top page edges gilt. Faded blue-grey unclipped DJs have yellowed spines and some shelfwear with chipped and tatty edges, but otherwise intact. Cream boards with gilt edging. Head and tail of spine and corners and edges of covers rather bumped. Some shadowing to endpaper, pencil marks on ffeps. Some page edges uncut, others untrimmed, all are browned and dustmarked. Pages slightly yellowed, some light yellowish blotches to prelims and early pages, very occasional fingermark, but contents otherwise clean and clear. Spines shaken but binding otherwise intact and textblock firmly attached at eps. Approx. 6 x 9 inches each volume. Please note this is a heavy pair, so additional postage will be required.
