[14],iv,121p. With two engraved plates. Full leather early Victorian binding with raised bands, gilt compartments and title label on spine. Plain endpapers with blind stamp of Castle Newe, Strathdon, Aberdeenshire on fep and a shelf mark on front pastedown. The poetical works of King James I (1394-1437); the first volume of what was to become a series of early Scottish verse collections edited by Perth-born bookseller and publisher Robert Morison (1722-1791). Contains "The King's Quair", "Christis Kirk of the Grene"' and "'Peblis to the Play". All in near fine condition without other marks or foxing. The two plates in equally near fine condition with crisp pages and clean boards with a hint of appropriate edge wear. A very collectable or presentable copy. See Scans and email for more.
