168pp. Quarto [28 cm] Red velour cloth over boards with the title stamped in black ink on the spine and front cover. White and black map endpapers. Very good. The boards are rubbed are scratched, and a little concave. There is a subtle lean to the spine. The pages are age-toned. With the gold, red and black pictorial dust jacket, in very good condition, with subtle strips of darkening along the fore and bottom edges of the front panel, and is a 2 and 1/2" closed tear in the top edge of the front panel. There are intermittent short closed tears and chips along the edges and folds as well. Utah artist, John Held Jr., was one of the best known magazine illustrators of the 1920s, and his designs for F. Scott Fitzgerald jackets became icons of the Jazz Age. Many of the images presented here, were drawn by Held for The New Yorker, Vanity Fair, Country Life, Colliers, and Life.
