Full green calf by Bradstreet's (spines sunned to a lovely brown); spines in six compartments separated by raised bands, gilt lettering in two compartments, gilt tools in remainder, t.e.g., floral gilt decorated dentelles, silk ribbon markers bound in. This set includes volumes 1 & 2 of the 4-volume set. Volume 1 comprises Gray's Poems, Journals, and Essays, including his famous Elegy Written in a Country Church-Yard. Volume 2 is the first of three volumes of his Letters. . Both volumes are in wonderful condition; unread, unmarked, tight, square, fresh, and clean. The spines are sunned to a beautiful brown, the decorated dentelles have left their shadow on the edges of the ffeps, else as new. A very attractive pair of books.
