Item description from seller

Fictionalized account of George Washington's formative years, exploring his childhood, his career as a surveyor, his involvement in the French and Indian War, and the other events that shaped him. Octavo: [vi], 290 pp. Original canary cloth binding, with blind-stamped title panels, dark blue-stamped borders and titling, and gilt-stamped decorative borders. Top edge gilt. Internally crisp and clean. Period previous owner's ink signature to the front and rear flyleaves, with a small bookseller's ticket to the rear pastedown. The binding is uncommonly fresh and bright, with just a hint of toning along the spine. Better than very good.
