Il Marchese Colocci Vespucci (Jesi, 1855-Roma, 1941), deputato al Parlamento e gran viaggiatore dalla vita avventurosissima, era entrato per la prima volta a contatto con l'etnia zingara nel 1885, quando era stato inviato nei Balcani in qualit� di rappresentante del Ministero degli Esteri. Con la presente opera egli fond� la moderna ziganologia in Italia e, grazie alla fama acquistata tra gli studiosi europei, nel 1910 divenne Presidente della Gypsy Lore Society, la pi� antica societ� di studi zigani. His son Massimo now owns and runs the bookshop and continues the family tradition of locating and providing books and prints to collectors around the world. Galleria Gilibert has been a member of L.I.L.A. since 1997. The bookshop occupies two floors in the magnificent gallery Galleria Subalpina in the heart of Turin, between two of the city's most important squares: Piazza Castello and Piazza Carlo Alberto. It is very close to the Biblioteca Reale, the famous Egyptian museum, and the Galleria Sabauda.
