With a special introductory note by the author and illustrations by Hodges Soileau. Issued as part of the publisher's First Edition Society series which preceded the Farrar Straus and Giroux trade edition. One of an unspecified limited number in the series. --- Bound in full red bonded leather covers with three raised bands on spine. Text presented on quality papers. Spine titling, elaborate decorations to covers and spine, and textblock edges all in bright gilt. Red silk moire endpapers, with matching sewn-in satin ribbon placemarker.
