London first edition ,second issue wrapper ,green cloth silver settering. NF/F. The book has minor rubbing ,no inscriptions with some foxing on early pages .The wrapper is priced at 3/6 instead of 7/6 and has reviews for a ship of the line and flying colours on back panel .The pictorial illustration is the same but the colours of the title and the logo have been reversed on the spine .Stangely this wrapper appears to be rarer than the true ist as there are no other copies listed on abebooks .Foresters early hornblower titles have increased enormously since 1999 when you could buy a really nice copy of the true Ist for US$250 ,now youre looking at US$3500 ,so this copy offers good value.
