The cover is worn & stained, the first section of the book, up to page 36, has light pencil marks and is generally worn, but the last section is quite good for its age. The author said, "A right beginning saves a vast amount of time and labor in any undertaking, and yet it appears to me, that more judgment has been used in any other department of study, than in that of learning to play on the Piano. For that reason I wrote some years ago a series of progressive lessons under the title of: 'Study with Amusement', with a view of benefiting my own scholars. Experience has suggested further improvements, which will be found in the present little work.".
