First English Language edition, assumed after the French original. This is an uncommon and important volume with worldcat showing only 5 copies. Likely a later binding of a quarter polished morocco with gilt titles over marbled boards with bumped and rubbed corners. There is some offsetting to the endpapers, though the main text block is generally very good, printed on uncut paper. There is a small owners name and what I'm guessing is an original hand drawing of the battle site, laid in, by a previous owner. It's old, and faded and the same size of the book. With 126 pages of text and two folding plates, both have a tear, one is taped on the rear. Each is however complete and hand colored as photographed. Seller Inventory # ABE-1527869494614
