8vo (22.5 x 14 cms). [16], 218. Quarter bound in brown cloth with beige cloth; a gilt lettered label on the spine. Frontispiece and 7 other plates, plus 15 maps and diagrams. Uncut. First edition CONDITION: Board corners have the merest hint of bumping and spine crown and toe equally of crushing. There are however some distinct if relatively minor evidences of wear on the rear cover: 2 lines of dirt or other discolouration on the beige cloth and 2 areas of scuffing and 2 indentations on the darker brown cloth. The title label is also clearly scuffed. Internally the leaves at pages 41-44, 45-48, 121.124, and 205-208 appear to have been carelessly opened (the book must have been published unopened) so that in each case part of one leaf is still attached to its neighbour. Regrettable blemishes in what would otherwise be a very handsome book. Seller Inventory # 000056
