Designed and lithographed by Barnett Freedman. It makes up, when opened, a visual peep show made of card and paper. The concertina paper sides becoming advertising space for Shell ("Be up-to-date Shellubricate down each side) and the fun of espying through the two apertures at an expanding three dimensional double view of London by evening with rush hour in full swing and the countryside by day. Wonderful strong colours, mainly red. This was the only edition ever made. A quite extraordinary advertising ploy! And an extraordinary fragile survival, though very firm and upright when displayed, to be almost pristine after 85 years. There are very, very few on the market. This is in almost immaculate condition, there being a very faint foxing to the back of the final back page which explains the Shell petrol blend.The only edition. Issued without a slipcase.
