12mo (20 cm); xii, 155, [1] pages. Original linen-backed boards with green printed paper label on upper board. Boards quite dark; scattered foxing as in all surviving examples, heavy toward final leaves. Shaken in boards. Bookplate of Alfred Heacock Whittaker. Earlier ownership inscription of Michael Schoonmaker. Sound and entire. Reference: American Imprints (Shaw) 1737 Lay medical advice from the early nineteenth century: eat more slowly, in moderation, chew your food, and get exercise by riding your horse. The author even holds a patent for a mechanical exercise machine.
