In the original publisher s red ribbed cloth, boards blind-stamped, rebacked with the original spine strip laid down, blind and gilt-stamped. 2 plates of marshalling, and hundreds of illustrations throughout the text. The scarce first edition of the text later reprinted by James Parker in 1894. The work includes a useful bibliography and a chronological table of Armory from the Norman Line. A very good copy, with a manuscript sheet detailing the Descent of Sir Henry Morgan of the Island of Jamaica loosely inserted.
