About the Author
I'm a Grandma!Catherine Bruggeman began life as a military "brat" whose family traveled the world. Life was an adventure! What was missing? .... Grandparents! It was nearly impossible to connect with extended family members. When an opportunity arose to visit, she felt more like a guest then family. She watched as other family members recalled holidays and adventures with HER grandparents that she never had the chance to experience. Later, after marrying a military man herself and having three children, she vowed to keep the relationship with her children and their grandparents alive, frequent and healthy! At least four times per year the family would make the trek across mountains, deserts, or oceans to keep the connection. To this day, the fond memories of "going to Meema and Papa's", house are recalled at every social gathering. Now that she is the Meema, and educated in the field of counseling, she understands the significance of those trips, and why she always felt left out. Those memories, instruction and adventures that only a grandparent can share, are deeply imbedded for a lifetime! These adventures provide an enhanced quality of life not only for the children but the parents and grandparents as well. It is imperative to stay connected by all means, the ear, the phone, the Internet!
