"A harangok R�m�ba mentek" was Jancs� s first feature film, a classical realistic story about children pressured to join the army during WWII, but they refuse to fight on German side againt the Russians on the eastern front, and try to rescue bells that are being taken to be used as metal for guns. Jancs� later dismissed his film, considered it too romantic thus false. .
