Original, vintage, black and white photo of the staff of Jancsó’s movie. Title and date on verso in pencil. 143 × 90 mm. "A harangok Rómába mentek" was Jancsó’s first feature film, a classical realistic story about children pressured to join the army during WWII, but they refuse to fight on German side againt the Russians on the eastern front, and try to rescue bells that are being taken to be used as metal for guns. Jancsó later dismissed his film, considered it too romantic thus false. .
