Geoffry Chaucer, Thomas und Oliver Cromwell, Maria Stuart, Königin Elisabeth, Francis Drake, Benjamin Jonson, Francis Bacon, John Milton, John Locke, Isaac Newton, William Shakespeare, Heinrich VIII., dessen sechs Frauen etc. etc. - Die Mehrzahl der großformatigen, "vorzüglich gestochenen" (Wurzbach) Kupferstich-Porträts schuf der berühmte holländische Kupferstecher Jacobus Houbraken (1698-1780). Die übrigen vierzehn Porträts stach George Vertue (1684-1756). - Thomas Birch (1705-1766), Theologe und Geschichtsschreiber, lieferte die zweiseitigen Biographien. - Innengelenke stabilisiert.
