About the Author
Philippe Besson est un écrivain, scénariste et dramaturge. En l'absence des hommes, son premier roman, publié en 2001, est couronné par le Prix Emmanuel-Roblès. Depuis lors, il construit une œuvre au style à la fois sobre et raffiné. Il est l'auteur, entre autres, de L'Arrière-saison (Grand Prix RTL-Lire), Un garçon d'Italie et La Maison Atlantique. En 2017, il publie coup sur coup Arrête avec tes mensonges, vendu à plus de 120.000 exemplaires, couronné par le Prix des Maisons de la Presse et Un personnage de roman, portrait intime d'Emmanuel Macron, alors engagé dans la campagne présidentielle. Ses romans sont traduits dans vingt langues.
Il a multiplié les collaborations avec le milieu du cinéma et de la télévision, ayant notamment écrit le scénario de Mourir d'aimer (2009), interprété par Muriel Robin, de La Mauvaise rencontre (2010) avec Jeanne Moreau, du Raspoutine interprété par Gérard Depardieu, et de Nos retrouvailles (2012) avec Fanny Ardant et Charles Berling. Il vient d'achever l'écriture pour le cinéma du Procès d'Oscar Wilde, dont le tournage est prévu au printemps 2018.
Un tango en bord de mer, sa première pièce en tant que dramaturge, a été jouée à Paris près de 200 fois en 2014 et 2015.
