Geneva, 4 December 1852. Alexandre-Henri-Augustus de.St. George, Comte de St. George (1807-1870), judge, President of the Evangelical Society of Geneva (1848-1855). In 1852 he went to the Grand Duchy of Tuscany, accompanied in particular by Colonel Henri Tronchin, Count de Gasparin and Ambassador Auguste de Pourtales, to defend the cause of two Protestants, the couple Madiai, unfairly locked up because of their faith.
