Item description from seller

This stapled, soft cover booklet measures 9.5 x 10.75 inches, and features a striking drawing of a dog, which is attributed to Parker. The booklet has some foxing on a number of its inside pages. The racing dogs were almost always greyhounds. The "sport" of dog racing is now judged disreputable, but was considered a legitimate gaming activity for generations. Even so, in its heyday, the tracks attracted demonstrations and strikes against the cruelty of the activity. Some of the tracks were illegal establishments, neither certified nor licensed. Nonetheless, this is part of our history.
