A very rare footballing item. On 1st September 2001 England beat Germany 5 - 1 in the Olympic Stadium in Munich in a vital World Cup qualification match for the 2002 competition. England's goals were scored by Michael Owen (3), Steven Gerrard and Emile Heskey. This remarkable away victory has become something of a legendary result against England's old football rival. Shortly after the game, the seller was able to obtain a few mint programmes from the German Football Federation and just ten of these were sent to the clubs of the players with a request for their signatures in return for a charitable donation. We were fortunate to able to secure the signatures of the following England players: Michael Owen, Steven Gerrard, Emile Heskey,( the three goalscorers who played for Liverpool), Rio Ferdinand, Robbie Fowler, Jamie Carragher, Danny Mills, Nigel Martyn, Alan Smith and Nick Barmy, as well as the signature of the England Manager, Sven Goran Eriksson. All signatures are completely original on page 13 of the programme and were done with black felt pens. The 78 page + covers programme has been in storage for twenty years and has not previously been offered on the open market. It comes with a black and white copy of the signature page, detailing the name of the player next to his signature. Also included is important provenance - copies of all the available correspondence relating to obtaining the signatures.
