An original early issue of Country Life Magazine dated June 29th 1945 featuring a main article on Asthall Manor in Oxfordshire, built about 1620 by Sir William Jones, a Welsh Lawyer and restored by Lord Redesdale, 4 page write up with black and white illustrations of the house, interior and paintings. Country Life Magazine commenced publication in 1897 and these early issues have become highly collectable and a valuable reference to the house owners of today, architects, restorers and renovators and anyone interested in the history of the building. They have an extensive write up with pictures of the building (interior and exterior) and garden as it was at that time. This issue is in very good condition with a lovely portrait frontispiece of Miss E. V. Whigham.
