This particular April 1865 issue features the "
Railways Inserted to June 1879" engraving plate update. It therefore incorporates the newly opened Cockermouth, Keswick and Penrith Railway (CK&PR), which had only begun passenger service in January 1865 along with other mineral etc railways undergoing rapid construction during this period.

Condition Report:
? Map Face & Linen: Generally Very Good+. The internal engraved paper surfaces are remarkably clean with minimal foxing or age-toning. The linen backing remains strong, and the sectional joints are almost all intact and unfrayed. Folds tightly and neatly.
? Binding/Covers: Incomplete. Please Note: One of the original outer protective cloth cover boards is missing. The remaining board as depicted shows some wear consistent with age.

A wonderful, highly detailed topographical resource for historians, railway enthusiasts, or vintage cartography collectors or for framing / display.
