Folio. A beautiful 1877 hand-colored map of the historic town of Princess Anne, Md on Maryland's Eastern Shore. This historic map features the towns in yellow and green colors and includes the lines of the now defunct 19th-century Eastern Shore railroad. Also notable are building footprints and property owner names, which include such Eastern Shore founding families such as Dashiell, Dennis, Dixon, and others. Building footprints include the several town churches, the jail, the Washington Academy and a fruit canning factory. Also featured are the original business sponsors of the map, including the Washington Hotel, the 'True Marylander', presumably a local newspaper, various lawers, grocers, etc. A few spots of light discoloration. Measuring 14" X 16" this map is perfect for framing and display!
