Vital transportation infrastructure such as bridges, roads, street cars, railway lines and stations aredepicted and named throughout the map. From colonial era battles to the industrial revolution, Pittsburgh has been regarded for centuries as an important city for its geographic location,positioned at the confluence of the Allegheny and Monongahela Rivers.
