The map shows the complete history of mine and vein locations of the region as well as the town of Idaho Springs, located on the north bank of Clear Creek, most of which was constructed following the success of the miners from 1860 and 1900.It was in January of 1859 thatGeorge Andrew Jackson, younger cousin of the famed Kit Carson discovered a nugget of gold while fur trapping in the dead of winter. Returning in the spring with a small group of prospectors from Chicago, Jackson and his team extracted$1,900 worth of Gold in one week. Like all first strikes, word would spread fast and by the end of the year, over 50,000 prospectors would flood into the region.Jacksons mine and that of many others can be located on this map using the list to the left that provides coordinate in letter and roman numerals. A legend to the right offers the various types of veins delineated throughout the map.Condition: Map is in A condition, issued folded, know mostly flat with no tears or holes. Customers may return items within 30 days of receipt for a full refund, provided the items are returned in the same condition in which they were received. Unless the return is due to an error on the part of New World Cartographic or the item arrives damaged, the customer is responsible for covering the return shipping costs.
Shipping terms
Most of our material is shipped rolled in a sturdy tube that is then packed in a rectangular box. Any items shipped flat will be reinforced to prevent being bent during shipping. We typically ship via UPS ground for domestic buyers (within the United States) and either UPS, DHL, or USPS International Priority for shipments outside of the United States.
